SEPARATION
Jord offers a range of technology that separates liquids and solids from gases, as well as liquids from other liquids.
Primary technologies are :
Inlet Devices: Inlet devices reduce the momentum of an incoming feed stream and evenly distributes the gas flow over the full cross section of a vessel. As a result, any bulk liquid and solids entering the separator drop out, thereby reducing the separation load on the second stage of separation. Jord offers a wide range of inlet devices from simple inlet baffles to high performance Schoepentoeters and Radially Stabilised devices.
Vane Packs: Primarily used for the separation of liquids from gases. Other applications include steam service for removal of condensate and product recovery in chemical and petrochemical industries. Vane packs are operable for both horizontal and vertical gas flows. Jord offers the industry standard double pocket vanes. In addition, state-of-the-art high capacity ‘hollow’ vane technology can be selected. This provides higher separation efficiency and throughput capacity.
Multi-Cyclones: Reverse flow multi-cyclones are primarily used for the separation of liquids and solids from gas. Applications include gas compression applications such as suction, interstage and discharge scrubbers, and gas metering and regulating stations. These separators display excellent performance in natural gas cleaning where the presence of wax is an issue. Multi-cyclone separators can be vertical or horizontal. Slug handling designs are also available.
Dry Gas Filters: For the removal of solids, (dust, pipe scale, ferrous oxide, etc) from gas. Typical applications are gas metering stations, pressure reduction stations, protection of equipment such as regulators, valves, meters, etc. Dry gas filters are also used downstream of catalyst beds to capture errant catalyst. Dry gas filters can be installed vertically or horizontally. A wide range of highly efficient filter elements are available to suit various applications and performance requirements.
Coalescers: Primarily used where liquids are to be removed and high performance is required. Typical applications are protection of molecular sieves & desiccant/catalyst beds, fuel gas treatment, gas dehydration systems etc. Coalescers can also be installed downstream of lower efficiency separators to polish and improve the overall performance of the separation train.
Filter Separators: Primarily used for the treatment of gas where both solid and liquid contaminants are present. Typical installations are found in gas compressor stations, metering stations, city gates stations, upstream of desiccant beds, downstream of contactors and other process towers. Filter separators can be installed in either the vertical or horizontal position.
To complement this range of filters and coalescers, Jord has a wide range of Quick Opening Closures (QOC) available.
