Executive team

Jord’s success over 50 years is in part due to its size – small enough to be nimble, big enough to be trusted globally. Our Executive and project execution teams work as one to ensure that every project risk and every customer concern is managed rigorously and transparently.

Joint Ventures

Jord fosters and sustains long-term partnerships with international technology leaders, fabrication workshops and customers, to learn from each other, solve challenges and engineer ideas.

Together, we have custom-built and manufactured over five billion dollars worth of bespoke plant and systems. Each project, each technical challenge and each commercial setting is different.

We have three joint venture partnerships that are fully integrated into the Jord family of companies, sharing group services, accreditations and business execution systems.

Jord Oil and Gas Systems b.v. (JOGS)

Based near Rotterdam, JOGS is an EPC contractor with a focus on the design and construction of gas compression and gas treatment systems. These may be supplied in turnkey EPC or modular plant configurations. Services offered span feasibility/FEED studies, design and construction of modular plant through to commissioning and brownfield plant upgrade services.

JordProxa Pty Ltd

Based in Sydney, JordProxa is focussed on the design and construction of crystallisation, evaporation and drying plants.  Key markets are battery chemicals, required for the rapidly expanding electric vehicle and energy storage markets, and zero liquid discharge (ZLD) plants, used to eliminate the discharge of toxic effluents into the environment. JordProxa is a joint venture with South Africa based Proxa Pty Ltd.  Jord first teamed up with Proxa’s technical experts way back in 1998, to construct Australia’s first ammonium sulphate crystalliser for the Kwinana nickel refinery.  Multiple unincorporated project alliances followed. Emergence of the battery chemical industry prompted this informal alliance of some twenty years to evolve into a formal, incorporated one.  Recent crystallisation plants include locations as diverse as Chile, Finland and Australia.

People and Culture

Back in 1972, founders John Holden and Phil Blundell had a vision of serving Australia’s emerging petroleum, alumina and sugar industries. To fulfil their vision, they drew in engineers with ability, humility, curiosity and dedication.

These characteristics have served Jord and its customers well over five decades. Our people now span 38 nationalities and 43 languages, with 80% living in 10 countries beyond Australia. Their average length of service is 10 years, almost double the industry average.

Jord offers our people the stability of private ownership, flexible work arrangements to balance long-term commercial, professional and personal ambitions, and a significant share in the annual profit of the business.
