Two challenges needed to be met. First was to commission vacuum belt filters for the spodumene concentrate within 20 weeks, a critical path action. Second was the tight water balance for the project, which meant recovering water from the tailings for plant re-use.

Jord’s experience and relationships came to the fore to meet these challenges. We leveraged relationships with our long-term fabricators and component suppliers to plan to meet the schedule. We used modular delivery, including electrical installation in the workshop, as well as specialised site engineering support to fast-track the commissioning and ramp-up.  The design for tailings dewatering allowed for maximum production across a wide process variability.

The combination of responsive design, timely commissioning and reliable performance of our equipment has led to further projects for Mineral Resources, and for the fast-emerging lithium processing industry.
