JordProxa has secured a second battery chemical crystallisation plant in Finland. Following the successful commissioning of its nickel sulphate, cobalt sulphate and ammonium sulphate plants for Terrafame, this
second plant crystallizes battery grade lithium hydroxide (LiOH).

This second plant is bound for Europe’s first fully integrated lithium plant, being developed by Keliber. It will produce 15,000 tpa of battery grade lithium hydroxide using for its main raw material spodumene concentrate produced from its own ore present on the west coast Finland site.

Jord’s customer is Metso Outotec, licensee of the soda leaching technology being used for the process. JordProxa’s plant is depicted in the accompanying 3D image. It includes a PLS evaporator, two stages of lithium hydroxide crystallisation and a drying circuit.
