Jord International Pty Ltd (Jord) is proud to announce its recent carbon neutral certification, as certified through the Australian Government’s Climate Active program. Climate Active is renowned as one of the most rigorous and credible carbon neutral certification processes available.

Jord CEO Angus Holden says the decision to go carbon neutral for Jord’s business operations demonstrates the firm’s commitment to being a responsible corporation.

“We chose action over words. We wanted to walk the walk,” said Angus. “The single biggest benefit of going carbon neutral is to the planet, not to our company. It is simply the right thing to do.”

“We are also proud to support recognised offset projects that align with our values and contribute to Jord Foundation’s goal of fostering a biologically diverse and sustainable planet,” said Angus.

Through the annual certification process, Jord has made a commitment to track, audit and reduce its carbon emissions, as well as offsetting unavoidable emissions. This first year it chose to support two international offset projects: the Raya Biodiversity Reserve Project in Indonesia and NIHT Topaiyo REDD + rainforest protection project in Papua New Guinea.

To further drive climate action, Jord is also developing new technologies to enable its customers in the energy and resource sectors to reduce energy and water consumption. For example, early results indicate its innovative flotation technology, called NovaCell™, could unlock a 40 percent reduction in comminution energy.

This year Jord celebrates 50 years of service to the energy and resource industries. The Australia-based company has over $5 billion of its bespoke plant and systems operating in more than 130 countries around the world.

As the energy and resource industries go through a significant transformation to meet renewable energy needs for the future, Jord’s role is to:

    • Design and construct process plant for traditional resource and energy sectors essential to power the transition.
    • Focus on technology innovations that deliver critical minerals and power new energy solutions in an efficient, cost-effective, and sustainable manner.
    • Ensure aftermarket solutions allow existing process plant to run more efficiently, thereby lowering emissions and extending plant life.
