Jord International’s Viper technology is a cost effective and scalable filtration technology, meeting the needs of modern miners’ for filtered tailings and concentrates alike.

Delivering performance, efficiency and sustainability to modern miners

The patented Viper system is a continuous filtration technology that is capable to filter in excess of 10,000 tonnes per day, per filter. References in numerous critical concentrate and tailings filtration applications, including at high altitude; at large scale; and with fine grind solids are proof that Viper can reliably meet demanding transportable moisture limits required for direct concentrate export or for direct deposition as filtered tailings.

Viper combines vacuum and vibration simultaneously to deliver a step change in filtration performance. Whilst under vacuum, the introduction of vibration energy directly into the filter cake causes liquification (release of water) and/or a thixotropic response (shear thinning). This response delivers a step-change in water removal, resulting in low moisture content production.

Eliminating cost and complexity barriers and delivering value

• Low maintenance and operator involvement – Viper is being operated in the most remote of mine sites, often by remote control rooms. A very low frequency of service and a minimum of serviceable components provides miners with a step change in OPEX and drastic reduction in labour for maintenance compared with alternate technologies.

• Lower Capital Investment – A Viper filtration plant requires a very simple, low cost supporting infrastructure which can all be delivered in simple to install pre-assembled modules. Furthermore, the nature of the equipment and process lends itself to a single level, low to the ground structure, without a covered building (in most climates), reducing the civil requirements.

Jord Deliver the Solution

Jord’s team deliver the critical equipment sizing test work, pilot plant and/or demonstration plant trials through to design and supply of the capital equipment or the entire filtration plant.

Our team has a range of engineered designs to rapidly develop a tailored solution to meet your project needs.

Jord can retrofit the technology onto your existing installed horizontal vacuum belt filters, with demonstrated retrofits across a wide range of Jord and our competitor’s equipment. Jord’s project and aftermarket teams work collaboratively with your site project team to deliver the retrofit with a flexible scope of supply to meet the site specific requirements.

As with all of Jord’s technologies, our aftermarket team provides the onsite support and asset management options to ensure your installation is performing over the life of the installation.
